JL King had a range of ready meals but the packaging wasn’t doing the food justice. It lacked shelf appeal, didn’t look appetising, and was getting lost in the freezer aisle. They needed a complete overhaul to compete in the retail space.
I helped build this brand from scratch. We started by coming up with the name, “Simply Tasty,” and developed a visual identity that felt fresh, honest,
and delicious.

We created a clear colour-coded system to categorise the range, making it easy for shoppers to find their favourites on the shelves and online.
We plated and photographed the entire range to ensure the food looked mouth-watering on the pack and then wrote punchy copy to match.
Tapping into the psychology of the ready meals customers, we created marketing materials and social media posts that created awareness and reach for the new brand.
